Cracker Barrel Restaurant Copycat Recipe
2 1/2 cups fresh blackberries
1 cup sugar 1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup milk
8 tablespoons butter, melted
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In medium bowl, combine the blackberries and sugar; let the berries stand about 15 minutes, until fruit syrup forms.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and milk. Add the melted butter until well blended. Spread the batter into an ungreased 8 inch square pan. Spread the blackberry mixture over batter. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until dough rises and is golden. Serve while warm. Makes 8 servings.
